Clock Striking Mechanism for the Arnfield Mantel Clock (available as ModelPlan 178)

In 1971 Meccano introduced the clock kits 1 and 2. Kit 1 was a simple weight driven pendulum wall clock and kit 2 was a more ambitious version and included a fairly complicated mechanism for striking the hours.

The functionality of the striking mechanism of clock kit 2 is in my opinion however not very reliable.

I designed and built a new striking mechanism, partly based on the concept of clock kit nr 2.
